Video import and export to Youtube

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

With the new design on Animasher.com, we have also added some really cool features. For example, it is now possible to use videos (flv-files) in your animations. You can also upload your finished Animasher animation to Youtube. Here’s how…

1. You need a video in .flv-format.

If you don’t already have a flv-file on your computer that you want to use, you can use keepvid.com to download your video from Youtube.

On keepvid, enter the url to the movie on youtube you wish to use…

keepvid

Then you simply klick download…

download

and rightclick the download link that appears below, and choose “Save link as” and save it where you want it on your computer…

save link as

Now you have an flv video file for your next Animasher masterpiece!

2. Upload to Animasher

Now that you have the flv, just click on “Create” in Animasher and then “Video” and “Upload Video”, where you chose your flv-file…

Upload

Pick a name for the file, tags, and the settings you want for this video. Once that is done, and you’ve clicked “Save”, your uploaded video will appear in your library…

3.Create your animation.

Use the video, add images, music, sound effects, speech bubbles, and whatever you want to your animation. If you want to learn how, check it here.

4. Save and publish to Youtube

When you are ready with your animation, click save, and pick a name, tags and the settings you want for the animation. Once that is done, click “Save and share”…

When asked if you want to publish on Youtube, click “Yes”, fill in title, category, description, tags, and then provide your username and password for your account on Youtube (not Animasher).

Once that is done, click “Export” and you’re done! It might take a few minutes for Youtube to process your animation, but once that is ready, you can see it among your movies on your Youtube account!

Go for it! =)

Animasher is working again

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Yup, now everything should be working fine again. Sorry for any problems you’ve had watching animashes for half an hour or so! An extra apology to the ones who restarted their computers, checked for viruses or whatever else you came up with to try to find out what was wrong!

If you run into any other problems, let us know!

Animasher is not feeling well (temporarily)

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

We are terribly sorry, but currently Animasher is not working as it should. We are working hard to make it work again, but it might take a little while longer. Until then, you won’t be able to view any animashes, and there might be some other hick-ups on the site.

But don’t worry, it will soon be up and running again! And until watching movies works again, go ahead and create one! At least that still works. =)

Sorry!

The Animasher Team

Update: Everything should be working again! So, relax and enjoy! Smile and be happy! We are!

Invite friends to create on Animasher

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Animasher is now just over a year old and we’ve had visitors from all over the world. Right now, from some 189 countries/territories. When we look at the map, there are just a few countries from where we haven’t had any visitors yet, so, if you know anyone from these countries, spread the word! Tell them to visit! And, you are of course also welcome to tell other friends to go to Animasher to animate their photos, create animations or an animated gif, in no time at all, and totally for free.

This is where we haven’t had any visitors.. .. so far!

  • Uzbekistan
  • Laos
  • Papua New Guinea
  • Somalia
  • Malawi
  • Western Sahara
  • Mauretania
  • Mali
  • Niger
  • Chad
  • Central African Republic
  • Congo
  • Benin
  • Togo
  • Sierra Leone
  • Liberia
  • Guinea Bissau
  • Djibouti
  • North Korea
  • Serbia?!

Actually, I seriously doubt that we haven’t had any visitors from Serbia yet, but that’s what our stats say, so I guess I have to believe it.

Anyway, if you know anyone in these countries! Invite them! And while you’re at it - invite all your other friends as well!

Enjoy!

New design and new features

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Ever since we launched Animasher we have tried to improve it and added new features, like creating animated gifs in addition to the normal videos. Smaller changes that maybe wasn’t that easy to notice.

But, this time we made a bigger change. We have a totally new site! Well, the editor still looks pretty much the same, but on if you take a closer look it has some really cool new possibilities, like including video in your animation.

The rest of the site both looks totally different and has a lot of new community features, like a leaderboard, private messages, more profile information, recent activities and more.

As always when something changes, some people like it, others don’t, but we hope that it is for the better and that you all will come to like it as soon as possible. If you find something that isn’t working (there is always something…) please let us know!

Right now on the leaderboard (the complete list).

Have fun!
